The new color challenge over at Gingersnap Creations is KRAFT! I've been using kraft more and more lately. I particularly love juxtaposing kraft with the "finer" things in crafting, like rhinestones and silk - the combo of "pretty" and "rustic" just floats my boat, LOL! For this card, I white-embossed a bunch of images around the perimeter of a kraft card base. On top, I layered a bird image (Artistic Outpost) on top of old text and robin's egg blue paper. For the background of the image, I tried out my new Glimmer mist colors (a combo of greens, blues, and pinks), so it has a shimmery effect in real life. I finished off the layers with a little silk ribbon, some teensy rhinestones, and a swirly paper-punched border.
If you like crafting with kraft, there are a bunch of fabulous examples over on the blog, so you'll want to check them out. For all you scrapbookers...there are some great scrapbook layouts on kraft, too..... :)

Mojo Monday Week 85 - Shabby Chic Baby

Here's a Shabby Chic style baby card that I made using the Mojo Monday Week 85 challenge sketch. I LOVE the sketch this week - although it took me a couple of tries to put it together correctly LOL!! I also used kraft cardstock to fit in with the Ways to Use It challenge over at SCS. The little feet image is from All Night Media, and the sentiment is from savvystamps. I used an Inkadinkado paisley stamp and Riding Hood Red ink (Stampin' Up) on kraft for the background panel behind the feet. I also used some of my stash of My Mind's Eye Wild Asparagus paper that I've been seriously hoarding! The strip of kraft scallops was made with Fiskars threading water punch. I distressed the panel edges with a variety of inks... white pigment, red, Antique Linen (Ranger), and Colorbox smoke blue. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend!
