A Wintery Sneak Peek

A little sneak peek at the new Kim Hughes stamp set called "Winter Trees," which is being released next week at Cornish Heritage Farms. Besides your classic vintage, I love the look of primitive rustic, especially for Christmas and Halloween. So I just had to give this a go (a little bit out of my box, but not too far!). I built this little scene, and then started distressing the poor thing like there was no tomorrow, LOL!! AND.... this is my very first dip into SEWING on a card! Yippee, but it's fun!!

I put the tree and the snowman on my acrylic block and stamped them twice - once on kraft, and once on distressed white pattered paper. I did this so that I could use the white images to cut along a ground line, around the snowman, and through the tree, and still make sure it all fit together on the kraft background. I then went to work paper piecing the various elements. For the snowman's scarf and for the red background patterned paper, I stamped the Houndstooth Backgrounder in red ink on kraft and on red paper, respectively. I stamped the partridge separately, and colored him with Copics. I finished the scene by stamping the snowflakes in white and adding some Stickles for sparkle.

Now, you may be wondering about that sentiment.... that's another sneak peek, from a new set called Friendly Kritters Scripture, and it is also due out next week. I stamped it, tore it, distressed it, and glued it onto a similarly battered grungeboard heart. A little bit of rustic and sparkly fibers finishes it off.

Well, now it's time for my long list of supplies, just in case something strikes your fancy - have a great Friday!
